Adam Martyniuk, First Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, appreciates dynamical development of bilateral inter-state and inter-parliamentary relations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. He made this statement, meeting the delegation of the Deputy Group on Inter-Parliamentary Liaison with Ukraine of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
The First Deputy Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine informed that the group of friendship with the State Duma of the Russian Federation, including 164 People´s Deputies, is the largest in The Verkhovna Rada.
According to A.Martyniuk, activization of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Russia is especially notable in the growth of trade turnover between the states. Ukraine is in the top three of the main trade partners of Russia after China and Germany. He believes that politicians and the public should realize that Ukrainian economy will suffer without mutually profitable bilateral relations between Ukraine and Russia.
A.Martyniuk informed the guests about the economic and political situation in the country, laying emphasis on the coordinated actions between the Government, the President, and the Parliament.
The parties called for extending cooperation in the international organizations.
They also discussed cooperation in the humanitarian sector, participation of Ukraine in the Customs Union, and simplification of the order of stay of Russian citizens in Ukraine, and vice versa.
A.Martyniuk expects further development of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Russia.
